GTS Environmental has over 30 years experience of measuring emissions from industrial processes.
We offer a service compliant to the latest CEN and ISO standards using accredited equipment and methods.
We provide both routine stack and workplace air monitoring testing to comply with environmental legislation
Such testing is routinely required for:
- Demonstrating compliance with emissions limits
- Calibration of automated measuring systems
- Commissioning efficiency trials of abatement plant
Stack Testing
We are accredited by UKAS to the Environment Agency MCERTS Monitoring Certification Scheme. All site staff are fully trained in working at heights and hold the relevant MCERTs certification. Click here to view our accreditations
MCERTs accredited testing is now a requirement for all IPPC part A1 and A2 processes.
Increasingly local authorities are requesting that testing of part B processes is carried out by MCERTs accredited organisations to ensure the quality of results.
In addition to standard monitoring and testing our experienced staff are able to assist with the interpretation of monitoring results and working with our consultancy arm advise on abatement strategies.
Workplace Air Monitoring
GTS provides a comprehensive in-factory air sampling service. Such sampling is carried out to assess employee’s personal exposure to airborne substances compared with current workplace exposure limits. This service ensures that companies fulfill there obligations under the COSHH regulations.
The GTS team has 30 years of experience in organising and implementing in factory and ambient monitoring campaigns and can tailor a project to suit your situation and the latest legislation.
Concentrations of harmful airborne substances in the workplace are usually controlled by local exhaust ventilation systems. As part of the survey the performance of such systems can also be evaluated by measurement of velocities and static pressures within the system.
All monitoring work is carried out following recognized methods. Typical airborne substances monitored include:
Dust - total, inhalable and respirable silica
- Organics - total VOCs, PAHs and oil mist
- Metals - tin, lead, and chromium (VI)
- Acid gases - hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride and sulphur dioxide
